This one-day conference is an opportunity for TAFE Queensland educators, staff and students to showcase, share and reflect on their research and scholarship.

Contributions may focus on the primary topic of scholarship of teaching and learning but other research topics are also encouraged. Given this broad scope, the conference theme is “Inquiry and reflection.” The following tracks are provided as guidance, but participants are also invited to contribute presentations/posters outside of these suggested tracks.

  • Inquiry: Teaching, learning and assessment
  • Inquiry: The future of applied learning
  • Reflection: Learning from failure
  • Reflection: Assessment design
  • Creative works: Reflective inquiry

Educators, staff and students are invited to submit contributions in various forms including abstracts, presentations, posters and/or creative works. Regional contributions are welcome and virtual presentations will be facilitated.

Participants are encouraged to share experiences and innovations related to teaching and learning. The effectiveness of the innovative practice may be evidenced, or conversely the attempt may indicate a different approach is required. Analysis of large-scale or small-scale efforts to improve student experience can be showcased. Documented evidence of novel instructional designs and/or assessment designs are also encouraged. Collaborative teaching innovations and/or cross-disciplinary explorations are welcomed and exploratory ideas and concepts are well suited to this event. In other words, contributions may be designed to raise a question or generate a dialogue rather than present findings.
