Scholarships

A $300 scholarship incentive is on offer for faculty participants who contribute to the SOTL conference and who are willing to participate in a 2023 Faculty Learning Community (FLC).

Applicants for the scholarship incentive are invited to submit a 250-word reflection that details their scholarship efforts, contribution to the 2022 SOTL conference, ongoing scholarship plans and intention to actively participate in the 2023 FLC.

Submitted reflections will be competitively assessed and ten reflections will receive a $300 scholarship incentive. Recipients of this scholarship incentive will be the founding members of the inaugural TAFE Queensland FLC. Members of the FLC will be eligible for invitation-only workshops in 2023. The 2023 FLC will collaboratively negotiate and decide on at least four workshops to be held throughout the calendar year. Recipients of the scholarship incentive will be expected to attend scheduled workshops.

Scholarship reflection

To apply for the scholarship incentive, potential contributors to the SOTL conference are invited to provide a 250-word reflection that covers the following:

  • Scholarship efforts to date
  • Outline of contribution to the SOTL conference (Friday 31 March 2023)
  • Ongoing scholarship plans
  • Intention to actively participate in the Faculty Learning Community (FLC)

This 250-word reflection should include a title (ten words or less), use a 12-point font, and be double-spaced. Scholarship reflections are submitted via the same online portal as the conference contribution. Reflections will be competitively assessed with the following criteria:

  • Actively engaged in scholarship to date
  • Submission made to the SOTL conference call for contributions
  • Ongoing scholarship plans identified and outlined
  • Confirmed statement regarding the intention to actively participate in the 2023 FLC
